Healthcare leaders play a pivotal role in inspiring team members or subordinate employees, boosting productivity, and assisting the organisation in increasing its repute as well as achieving professional goals. Strong leadership in the healthcare sector is crucial as it can extensively impact the working process, decision-making, and other workers as well as hierarchies (Broetje, Jenny & Bauer, 2020). Moreover, leadership in healthcare settings helps to increase awareness and innovate methods strategically to reduce workload. This essay aims to provide detailed elaboration about required qualities in any healthcare leader as well as the major skills required to be developed as a healthcare leader.
 

Qualities Of Healthcare Leaders:

 
I consider several important qualities cumulatively develop a leader, and those qualities can be learned, acquired as well as improved over time. These qualities are essential to implement in any professional setting to increase productivity, create a cooperative working environment and raise the professional efficacy of that organisation (Zonneveld, Pittens & Minkman, 2021). Successful leaders show significant qualities and apply them professionally and personally. The most important qualities inevitably necessary in any healthcare leader are mentoring and educating others as well as practicing humility.
 

1. Educating Others: An essential quality required in an effective leader is to educate other co-workers and increase the knowledge and awareness of the subordinate workers. Teaching the quality of the leaders is an important fundamental quality in the healthcare sector as it helps to eradicate probable mistakes, create a competitive working environment, and increase the efficacy of the workers (Alkheyi et al. 2020). Being a registered professional nurse, I would prefer that a significant leader always aims to pass knowledge to others and inspire the employees to follow them to evade critical problems and increase productivity with efficiency. Moreover, delegating coaching to healthcare leaders can help me to identify necessary abilities requisite in leaders and adapt to the necessary components necessary for practicing leadership in any situation with accuracy. In addition, through this effective leadership quality, the leaders can develop strong teams aiming to address harder tasks, share responsibilities, increase accountability, and complete assigned jobs with ease (Ayeleke et al. 2018). I consider these behaviours of leaders can assist me in gaining confidence, creating genuine connections with other co-workers, developing expertise, and maintaining task priority according to its emergence. In addition, the mentorship of the leaders is crucial and beneficial for any organisation as it paves the path towards success and employee retention as well as encourages innovation, assertive communication, and strategic thinking.
 

2. Practicing Humility: Healthcare leaders always aim to improve the whole organisation and try to derive suitable methods to increase the performance of the teams as well as enhance the reputation of the working organisation. As a result, the true healthcare leaders, by knowing the internal working process of teams, can substantially identify the contribution, impact, and role of each team (Nolan et al. 2021). I think this can increase assertive communication, positive approach and trustworthiness towards each other, cooperation in the working environment, enhance work efficacy and practice dignity. Furthermore, I think that effective leaders show respect and acknowledge the involvement of team members as well as give importance to others' ideas by listening to them carefully and addressing their questions. It can reciprocate respect, trust, and cooperation among the team members with the leaders (Kelsall-Knight, 2022).
 

Skills In Healthcare Leaders:


As a graduate registered nurse, I would incorporate significant skills within me to increase my work efficacy and create a helpful working environment. Any healthcare leader requires to look after a wide range of responsibilities, including operations, working process, innovation, strategy derivation, human resources, and maintenance of specific discipline (Zonneveld, Pittens & Minkman, 2021). As a graduate nurse, I would like to develop effective communication skills and emotional intelligence within me to implement the required abilities in the professional area.
 

1. Communication skills: Powerful communication is inexorably necessary for healthcare leaders. In this context, communication can be referred to as interacting in both verbal or non-verbal ways as well as written means with accurate grammar, punctuation, or precise sentence structure to express thoughts professionally. Being a leader, I would communicate factually, logically, and assertively to present my thoughts or arguments succinctly. Communication patterns of leaders in any healthcare setting influence work efficacy and productivity assure consistency and help to improve patient outcomes by improving the working process (Ibrahim & Ahamat, 2019). I think that communication with other team members or hierarchies of a healthcare leader is associated with higher employee motivation, increased work engagement of the workers, diminished mistakes, and development of advanced knowledgeable background comprised with expertise. Sharing thoughts and problems with the leaders also can increase employee wellbeing, increase employee retention, develop adjustment among the co-workers, and create a positive working environment. I think practicing effective communication pattern of true healthcare leaders aim to explain professional goals to employees, evading nuances, promoting strengths, and address the hindrances of the employees to suggest improvements (Meng & Qi, 2018).
 

2. Emotional intelligence: Mostly, graduate nurses require handling various internal and external work responsibilities with efficacy in any healthcare setting. I would like to develop emotional intelligence as a health care leader as it can help me recognise verbal and non-verbal cues, determine necessary steps, and increase patient outcomes. Intending to understand the needs of subordinate workers, hierarchies, and patients, the registered nurses require acquiring and implement emotional intelligence skills (White & Grason, 2019). Effective healthcare leaders show empathy, demonstrate sensitivity, address the diversity of culture, and respect societal influence in behaviour and characteristics (Dugué, Sirost & Dosseville, 2021). Through emotional intelligence, I can support other co-workers, encourage people to increase or refine their strengths, identify the major influential factors as well as help to adapt to new skills or knowledge. It can help to increase the emotional or mental well-being of workers and derive a suitable cooperative environment from providing high-quality patients care.
 
Conclusion:
 
It can be concluded that in a graduate nurse, essential leadership qualities are inevitable to increase work efficiency, adapt to the working process, build a positive working approach, and create a suitable professional healthcare environment with higher patient outcomes. I think the most important qualities of a leader are increasing the knowledge base of others and practicing humility in a professional context. Moreover, being a registered nurse, I would like to develop effective communication patterns and emotional intelligence to implement them in my professional area of work to increase work performance and get job satisfaction.
