A. Learning Experiences

Learning Experience 1

The employability skill developed is creative thinking and problem-solving. This skill has helped me to understand my future career in the Human Resource Management (HRM) field. During the learning experience, I have managed issues between my colleagues through analysing problems and finding effective solutions that have helped me to understand the need for this skill in managing the workforce. During the experience, I got to know that the HRM field requires effective problem solving and HR needs to act as investigators. Problem-solving is considered an integral part of HRM. This skill is essential for recognizing problems and tackling them creatively. 

Learning Experience 2

Learning experience regarding the project and financial management has helped me to learn two specific skills such as financial literacy and Digital literacy. During this experience, I researched the HRM field and got to know the skills and knowledge required to join this field. Besides, I have learned about specific software and tools through forums and YouTube which are used in the HRM field.  Digital literacy also helps to identify salaries, employment agreements, contacts and payable taxes for particular job roles in desired industry (Anthonysamy et al., 2020). I have also created my LinkedIn profile with the help of these experiences.

Learning Experience 3

I have also developed communication and interpersonal skills during my learning experience of Communicating and Influencing. This experience has helped me to understand the importance of respecting others from different cultural backgrounds while working in a team which is an essential part of working in the HRM field. I have also learned that understanding the body language of people is important while having face-to-face interactions. My experience of learning about formal writing can be used in the future while writing letters to my supervisors in the HRM field. These skills can help me to hire and train candidates easily by creating bonds with them. 

B. Reflection And Evaluation

Career learning experiences and development skills can help to achieve professional and personal development. During the learning process, I came to know about my strengths and weaknesses. Career learning experiences and developing skills provide professionals an opportunity to achieve progress in their careers (Chanani & Wibowo, 20219). For example, during the learning experience of advanced problem solving, the employability skill of creative thinking and problem solving was developed through participating in student competitions for analysing real-world issues for identifying underlying causes for proposing effective solutions. This has helped to improve my personal creativity and improved opportunities to achieve future professional success. Achieving the learning experience of financial management has helped to improve my decision-making and negotiation capabilities which are important to gain professional success. In addition, improving my communication skill during the learning experience is essential for personal growth as I can be able to express my thoughts and ideas effectively. For example, during the learning experience of communication and influencing, the employability skill of communication was learned through communicating clearly verbally with other peers and producing documents using the right structure and language. This has helped me to improve my ability to express myself effectively both in my personal and professional life.

However, I have faced certain challenges during my career learning. Lack of time is an essential challenge that I faced during the learning experience of communication and influencing. Professionals face a lack of time during skill improvement due to busy schedules and work pressure (Gubbins & Hayden, 2021). Moreover, I have also faced the challenge of lack of resources while gaining learning experience in project and financial management. Obtaining digital and financial literacy skills often requires adequate computer software and other technologies.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are relevant to my future career as it will help me to avoid making biased decisions while recruiting and managing candidates in the future. These skills will also help me in the future to solve conflicts between team members on particular projects in my future workplace. On the other hand, the skills of Digital Literacy and Financial literacy are also relevant to getting employed in the HRM field in the future. I have developed these skills by following certain practices. For example, I have learned digital literacy through creating and maintaining my professional identity as a LinkedIn profile. I have learned about the most important items that need to be included in a professional digital profile to attract employers. I have learned that this profile can be used to prove myself eligible for a position in the HRM industry. I will be able to use these skills while identifying and negotiating the salaries of my dream position in this field. Besides, I will be able to use digital tools to perform HRM tasks such as inviting candidates, assessing the resumes of candidates, conducting online interviews and short listing candidates after employment.

Moreover, digital literacy helps HR professionals to remain updated about the latest technologies which can be used in the HRM field (Pilav-Velić et al., 2021). I can use these skills to research different latest technologies and select the best one for my future workplace. Besides, the communication and interpersonal skills are also relevant to my future profession as an HR professional. It can help me to work in a team by respecting the dignity and the opinion of others. Moreover, I can explain my own thoughts to others to make them understand my perspectives. I can also use these skills to write formal official letters and reports in my chosen profession. My learned communication and interpersonal skills will also help me to inspire others to collaborate with each other while aiming to achieve common business goals. These skills can help me to understand the feelings of others and empathise with their issues in this field which is good for making and maintaining positive relations.

The career learning experiences and developing skills have also impacted my overall employability. I have achieved effective skills that can increase my competence to achieve employment in the HRM field. Employability skills like communication can help me to interact with others at work which is essential for building effective interpersonal relationships. It is essential for an individual to remain competitive which improves employability (Artess et al., 2017). These learning experiences have helped me to stand out from the crowd by obtaining a unique mix of skills, which are essential to getting employment in the HRM field. For example, while obtaining the employability skill of financial literacy, I have conducted effective research on making effective employment agreements and contracts. This has impacted my overall employability and helped me gain a distinguished position from others with whom I will compete during employment. Thus, this learning experience is relevant to my future career and helped to improve my competency to achieve success as a professional in future.
