My village is located in the serene foothills of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is one of the states in the northern part of India and has many yet to explored villages. The name of my village is Khajjiar and it draws people mostly young adventurers who come to trek in these parts of himachal for the spectacular views of mountain. Recently after the pandemic my village gets a lot of foreigners who work remotely for their office. Himachal Pradesh "Province of the Snow-laden Mountains" is a state in the northern part of India. Situated in the Western Himalayas, it is one of the thirteen mountain states and is characterized by an extreme landscape featuring several peaks and extensive river systems. Himachal Pradesh is the northernmost state of India and shares borders with the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to the north, and the states of Punjab to the west, Haryana to the southwest, Uttarakhand to the southeast and a very narrow border with Uttar Pradesh to the south. The state also shares an international border to the east with the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. Himachal Pradesh is also known as Dev Bhoomi, meaning 'Land of Gods' and Veer Bhoomi which means 'Land of the Brave Farmers” who live in villages make up the majority of the people in India. They struggle to make ends meet while growing crops for the entire country. There are over 500000 villages in India, which are dispersed all over the place.A place with fewer than 5000 habitations is referred to as a village. A village is referred to as being in the country's rural area. Rural areas are those without urban amenities, hence the name. The locals' primary line of work is farming. They are the main producers of agricultural goods in the country.

Location of My Village

The distance between Dalhousie and Khajjiar, a hill station in the Himachal Pradesh province of India, is around 24 km (15 mi).

Khajjiar is situated on a small plateau with a weed-covered lake fed by a stream in the centre. Meadows and woodlands surround the hill station. There is a hotel and some cottages run by HP Tourism at Khajjiar where the tourists can stay. Besides that, there are two rest houses, one each of P.W.D. and Forest Department. A couple of private hotels have also come up, which do not match the above places in terms of location and amenities.

Walking around the lake or taking lengthy walks through the dense pine forests are the main forms of recreation in Khajjiar. Snowfall occurs in the winter and can reach heights of up to 910 mm (3 ft). Children like this location because it allows them to walk around freely and has a sloping ground that allows them to slide down to the lake without being wounded. Horseback riding and paragliding are some more attractions. There is a park with a sizable Hanuman statue.

A large diversity of plants and fauna may be found in the Kalatop Khajjiar Reserve, a wildlife sanctuary. Deodar and fir forests cover it extensively. Picnics and hiking enthusiasts frequently visit the location.
