Reflective writing enables them to re-assess the situation based on rational thinking.  Therefore, the course of creative reflective paper supports student, professionals and other individuals to describe the inside, they have gained through encountering the situation and limitations they require to address in order to comply with their professional practice. The paper aims to discuss reflective practice examples, structures and examples in following paragraphs.

Discussion

Reflective essay is considered as one of the widely used analytic practices where the writer describes a real or imaginary situation in order to express insight and personal reflection on its meaning.  While the format of reflective essays may change slightly depending on the audience and the professional practices, the purpose of each reflective essay is similar to each other. Hence, in other words, in order to write an academic reflective essay, one must make a mind map of the events followed by a strong opening paragraph followed by arguments, ideas, literature support and lastly the conclusion sentence that briefly summarizes the thought and personal reflection (Shum et al. 2016).

Apart from these factors, personal growth and literature are major focus of any personal reflection.  Personal growth is one such personal reflection pattern that is used by tutors as a strategy for helping students to learn how to analyse their personal life experiences. It is suitable to  promote emotional growth and development (Locher 2017).  It also supports the professionals to develop self awareness and regulations of any service in order to comply with standard parameters of the profession or services.  On the other hand, providing   a summary of the literature in own life experiences enable individuals to distinguish the   experience from standard parameters (Timizar-Le Pen et al. 2020). Hence, tone and structures are fundamental for individuals to ensure self awareness and regulations in essay format. Reflective paper is beneficial as it provides professional s thoughts and analysis to what you have read and experienced.

The most commonly used reflective essay models are Gibb’s reflection model and Driscoll' reflection model that widely used in health care profession and other business profession. Gibbs reflective cycle is highlighted as the most suitable strategy for evaluating the clinical experience and evaluate the skills required to improve clinical practice (Vassilaki 2017). It is highlighted as a major strategy to promote the personal as well as professional development to comply with standard.  The six critical stages such as description, feeling, analysis, evaluation, conclusion and action plan to assess the skills.  Gibbs reflective cycle is also used in business and work health and safety profession in order to gain idea of the situation (Ardian, Hariyati and Afifah 2019).  On the other hand, Driscoll model of reflection is another framework for reflection, developed into a structured process to guide reflection of the profession.  It has what, so what and now what structure that enable professionals to analyse the situation. Even though 5R framework for reflection will guide individuals through Reporting, Responding, Relating, Reasoning, and Reconstructing to make sense of a learning experience, it is rarely used reflection. Gibb’s reflection cycle

Description

The clinical scenario highlighted inappropriate sharing of patient information on social media. My co-worker registered nurse shared patient information social media   in order to provide idea regarding diabetes.  The patient was offended and requested to sue the registered nurse from the clinical practice.

Feeling

Before the incident, I was mindful regarding restrictions associated with of patient information on social media. However, after encountering clinical incident, I was remorseful that the inappropriate sharing of information to the social media negatively patient satisfaction.

Evaluation

The positive part of the incidence is that it supported me to gain idea of informed consent and confidentiality. However, the negative part of the incidence is that I was remorseful that the inappropriate sharing of information to the social media.

Analysis

In my opinion, registered nurses must be aware of professional boundaries and must develop appropriate skills of therapeutic report with the client for gaining informed consent.   In order to comply with clinical standard, registered nurses must have sound knowledge of confidentiality and must seek permission before sharing   the information in any online platform (O'Connor et al. 2018).  The mandatory reporting and punitive action against the nurse are fundamental part of the registered nurse’s practice if any breaching of professional boundaries reduce desired patient outcome.

Conclusion and Action Plan

On a concluding note, it can be said that in order to comply with clinical standard, registered nurses must have sound knowledge of confidentiality and must seek permission before sharing. Hence, I will encounter similar situation, I will seek permission from the patient before sharing    information.

General Reflection Papers

When it comes to books, I didn’t understand the appeal. I’d read one after another for each assignment not understanding what all the fuss was about. However, the moment I read Pride and Prejudice, it was like my literary eyes opened for the first time. It stirred love within me for classics I didn’t realize could exist. When I was first given the assignment of reading Pride and Prejudice, like many of my friends, I scoffed. With an eye roll, I internally calculated how much time I would have to read the book and write a report. I sighed at the loss of time with my friends for a stupid classic.

Conclusion

On a concluding note, it can be said that reflective essay is considered as one of the widely used analytic practices where the writer describes a real or imaginary situation in order to express insight and personal reflection on its meaning.
