ICT101 Introduction to Information Technology Foundations has been more than simply a training experience for me; it has been a comprehensive and thorough continuity of education and progress as an individual, as well as a road map for my future profession. This unit provided me with the knowledge I needed to bridge the gap between the market and company requirements. I thought this unit would be challenging for me at first, but as I progressed, I began to understand many parts of IT and see how important they are in my professional and personal lives. Now I'll use the learning cycle to share what I've learned as well as my personal opinions on this unit. As a result, information systems can be exploited to obtain a competitive edge, but strategic implementation is required. Organizations must first choose how they wish to differentiate themselves, and then employ IT systems to achieve that uniqueness.

 

Given the scale, I initially found it difficult to comprehend, but via lectures, I gradually gained a better understanding of the concept. In my journey to understand the fundamental principles of IS, I've gained a lot of knowledge. The seminars and learning experiences gave me the idea that the most significant part would be how information systems enhance and stimulate company use. Our teacher has assisted us in working together to provide academic assistance, online support, and information on the topics presented in each lecture, as well as share this knowledge (2).

 

The first week's lectures taught me about information systems in organizations. As a student, I knew that one day I would be a part of an organization as well as that I would have to think about information systems in a business context. Indeed, the business I'd like to start uses traditional IT and software, so I'll be able to use the terminology in my future work. During the presentation, I learned how a program like this works in a typical commercial setting, such as an entertainment company with very inventive marketing and advertising programs. This was also useful in learning about certain practical ideas, such as ERP and CRM applications, which will, I assume, help me better support my possible professions by integrating as well as improving my knowledge of IS and IT (3). This first module allowed me to objectively examine the basic principles of information systems and technologies in modern firms, as well as construct and describe a cooperative framework that embodies the agile market method's values. I discovered case studies on results, knowledge management, as well as company and information management, all of which helped me broaden my corporate strategy research study. The meeting informed me about competitive strategic value and expertise. 

 

The most important takeaway from this session is that data is a tremendously valuable tool for any business. One of the lecture instructors during the session addressed Porter's proposed value chain model. I was trained and educated on how to apply such a model to business in order to understand secondary and major operations, and I learned that all of these duties are interdependent. Otherwise, our instructor could clarify this in every module's learning activities using peer-reviewed research and resources, including textbooks as well as case studies. As a potential marketing advertiser, I'll apply what I've learned about this concept in a corporate setting to understand and perceive successful business operations. CRM as well as ERP, two critical business management structures, taught me how to work together (4). I thought such concepts were too simplistic at first, but our experts provided us with the fundamentals and a clear understanding. As an IT specialist, I would offer this information about market processes in my prospective positions in the industry in order to incorporate and produce verifiable plans and recommendations for my customers in order to aid and complete their strategic goals in a business or product. I agree that our lecturer's studies can be used as a data storage system for gathering information as well as serving as a warehouse manager, sales agent, or other position.

 

During this unit, I noticed an excellent opportunity to cover a couple of the instructor's lectures on a number of IS-related topics. The professor clarifies the topic and provides a few real-life examples. These conversations have been in-depth and nuanced. For instance, in one of Netflix's lectures, the professor discussed the views and ratings of their users with me in class when they realized the enormous migration to another application, which was Netflix's main competitor. Though monthly subscriptions became more out of reach than market expectations, the system became eBay as well as Stan. I can see the company's clear picture now, as well as the risk that another Netflix organization may emerge. This provided me with information on how the new organization functions and anticipates their consumers' attitudes and behaviors in order to address the problem. During the session, there was another learning opportunity in the form of a YouTube knowledge video that was very pertinent to the theme of IS studies. Those YouTube videos inspired me more than ever to learn the course material. The instructor was well-known and experienced enough to offer me and other students sound advice on any subject or topic based on his or her own experience and education. He wanted to encourage both of us to think about our experiences, so he kept suggesting that we share case studies and suggestions from our own experiences and then ask for his advice and insight so that I could learn more about the themes and concepts, which helped me comprehend the course better. One of the company's employees had a difficult time and circumstances at work, so he describes the issue and what the company's consumers are facing (6).

 

It's self-evident that I was the most significant to me in this session for information systems lectures as well as related learning experiences. We explained why I hadn't been able to function, but I never tried to do so during the day. Because I learned about these client programs from this course, I will most likely apply the course in every case. The ERP program helps handle issues with rationalizing and controlling the client's corporate operations as they grow (7). This, I suppose, is not only an end-to-end compliance system but also a single archive for all of the company's information, correspondence, and documents. I realized that for the rest of the study, I didn't focus much of my attention on the virtues of hard work, self-discipline, and long-term education. This motivated me to reorganize my routine and properly balance my maintenance, dedication, and leisure time. My details and awareness personal safety package contain the knowledge I already have. While participating in classroom-based learning events, I was surely prepared to face some potential stumbling blocks. In general, my perspective on IS and its benefits and cons for industry and other private sectors has evolved. This training unit not only taught me about IT (information technology and information systems), but also how to apply my professional abilities and knowledge to improve the company's prospective outcomes (8).

 

The number of people using internet technology is increasing all the time. Mobile devices as well as wearable technology, such as smartwatches, earphones, hearing aids, specialist glasses, and so on, are also growing in popularity. A large portion of today's corporate equipment is digital. The information gathered assists in the investigation of various methods for running businesses more efficiently. Businesses are constantly improving their production and supply networks, and this is a trend that is expected to continue. As a result, technology is the way of the future. Digital technology advancements have the ability to boost productivity and economic growth while also creating new and better employment opportunities to replace old ones. If not handled in a sustainable manner, technological innovation can be disruptive, either adding to the dangers to the environment and global climate or aiding in the resolution of these issues (9). As with globalization, technological innovation produces winners and losers, with certain companies or countries benefiting from a competitive advantage. For firms and individuals, new technology changes must aim to improve and extend access to opportunities. If governments create new policies to overcome the existing digital divide and emphasize education and training for future professions, the era of AI and smart robots has tremendous potential.

 

In essence, the comprehensive nature of information systems in today's society creates a conceptual interaction activity for students, exhibiting both the practical and technical aspects of information systems at the same time. The change in mode allows for a greater scope of deep learning, with the retrieval, manipulation, and cleansing of data displayed coherently and rationally for a larger audience. As a student in the Introduction to Information Systems course, I gained valuable skills such as interpersonal and communication abilities that will be useful in my future as an emerging information systems professional. This information systems unit provided me with the necessary abilities to become a well-informed citizen, not just an academic, who understands how to bridge the technical and market differences (10). Since attending the several lectures in this course, I have gained a better understanding of my knowledge and ability level. In reality, I'm learning how to properly tackle complex things. In this area, I have often learnt about creative difficulties in information technology in accordance with human-based values of modern engineering. I believe that the corporate information system is useful in facilitating improved communication between employers and employees. Information systems do an excellent job of storing records and data in directories that workers can access and move. It means that the administration and lower-level employees' knowledge exchange is monitored. Employees on the front lines are also able to participate in the decision-making process, which makes them feel more motivated and committed to completing a task. This is required for both businesses to keep a database of operations, identify the source of problems, and resolve them. When using the company information system, it is handy to save financial reports, research logs, correspondence logs, and documentation. Manual data management takes a lot of time and effort. A complex software system saves details across the database, making the search procedure possible (11).
