She ensures that the individual or the staff needs in the organization is being fulfilled and further the situational needs are being identified and accordingly the care practices are adopted. The interviewed nursing leader adopts a situational leadership style which helps to fulfil the nursing goals.

The nursing leader interviewed believes that in order to be an effective leader and to lead the workforce it is important to focus on industry collaboration as well as change adoption. As per the leader, such collaboration is important to promote an internal culture and nursing staff attitude towards providing advanced care. Further, based on the leadership style and approaches that have been adopted by the nursing leader, it can be identified that the nurse leader has also adopted advanced approaches that have helped her in empowering her staff. Such includes providing timely guidance, maintaining a friendly work culture, promoting a culture of trust and respect as well as providing them with career growth opportunities throughout their career with the organization.

Findings

Based on the conducted interview session with the nurse leader, it can be reflected that in the healthcare sector it is important for the nurses to focus towards that on the situational needs and requirements and accordingly the strategies are to be adopted. The industry researchers reflect that in the nursing profession, it is important that nurses focus on a collaborative working style. As in nursing to deliver quality care it is important to communicate within multidisciplinary teams so that quality care can be provided. Therefore, an approach to collaborative working in such a situation helps the nurse leader to maintain staff as well as patient satisfaction (Orchard et al., 2017).

The interviewed nursing leader has adopted the approach to situational leadership to ensure that the emerging challenges in the care delivery process can be identified and accordingly the care plan can be developed. Further such an approach of the nursing leader can be supported through the industry research conducted by EL Bakshawan et al., (2016). The researchers reflect that situational leadership in the nursing sector helps in order to promote the behavioural effectiveness of the nurses as well as their ability to empathize with the stakeholders involved. The conducted research reflects that the approach towards situational leadership and emotional intelligence of nurses are highly interlinked and further contribute to improved care effectiveness.

Further, Wei et al., (2018) have defined that the approach of nurse leaders towards fostering staff self-care as well as promoting a culture of positivity and trust helps to improve staff engagement and further influences them to contribute towards advanced care practices in the industry. Also, it is important for the nurse leader to focus on the staff's strengths and work efficiency and an altruistic approach towards care is to be defined. Such practices at the organizational level help to ensure the satisfaction of staff as well as patients through effective care delivery.

The industry researchers reflect that it is the role of nursing leaders to focus on promoting shared values and open communication within the organization. Such is important so that the nursing staff employed can communicate with the leader about any issue or challenge they are facing at the workplace, and further, the strategies can be adopted to eliminate such workplace issues (Bergstedt & Wei, 2020).

Conclusion

The overall discussion has been based on the interview conducted by a nursing leader who has been appointed to the role of APRN. The interview helped in understand the key leadership practices that the nursing leaders adopt to ensure an effective care delivery process. The industry researchers justify that to ensure a successful care delivery it is important that a well-defined leadership approach is followed so that the care planning can be done accordingly and further satisfaction of both the staff as well as the patient can be ensured.
