Theme Of Life And Faith

In my perspective, the opening verse of the book of Revelation, "I am coming soon," is a metaphor for both living and believing. Never let someone take your power away from you, thus always take care of your stuff (Revelation 3:11, New International Version). I immediately thought of the importance of trust in obeying God's Word and in waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ. Many difficulties may arise as a direct result of our faith, but we must be patient and refuse to be deterred from the path that leads to heaven. If we have faith and let God reward us with a crown in heaven for everything, he has done for us in this life, God gives us the chance to spend forever with him in paradise.

The passage I chose thereafter states, "This calls for patient perseverance on the part of God's people who are faithful to his laws and firm to Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). I find this line to be an exquisite evocation of the spiritual and material dimensions of existence. Christians must have faith in the Lord and stay faithful because He will reward them with eternal life in paradise if they do so despite the trials and sufferings they face in this world.
